Claroxan Supplement Facts
Bilberry Extract-Bilberries are common throughout Europe and North America, and have been used as medicinal herbs since the 16th century.
Research published in 2005 suggests that anthocyanins in bilberry help protect against oxidation damage in the retinas(4), and thus could help prevent occular tissue damage and cataracts.
In one study, those given bilberry extract had a ZERO % occurence of AMD and/or cataracts, versus an astounding 70% of the control group! (5)
Bilberry extracts have also been used for year to help improve night vision.
In World War 2, British RAF pilots were given bilberry before night raids and claimed it gave them improved night vision, allowing them pick out targets more accurately.
L-glutathione & N-Acetyl-L-cysteine-With age, cells in the retina begin to lose their ability to protect the eye from oxidative stress. This stress is a primary factor in age related vision loss, and vision disorders such as AMD and cataracts. Numerous clinical studies have documented the correlation between levels of glutathione/N-Acetyl-L-cysteine and the eye's ability to protect against photooxidative damage, and suggests that oral administration of these powerful antioxidants may be key in the prevention and even reversal of occular diseases.
Lycium Berry (Fructus barbarum)-Lycium berries (or wolfberries) are a potent source for natural zeaxanthin, and have similar effects to extracted zeaxanthin blends. (see, Zeaxanthin)
Eyebright Herb (Euphrasia officinalis)-Euphrasia plants have recently been proven to be an effective antidote to eye allergies.
In a recent clinical study, over 98% of people administered Euphrasia saw clear or complete improvements in occular redness, swelling, and burning, an astounding success rate. (10)
Elderberry fruit extract-Elderberry is a powerful herbal source for anti-oxidants, crucial to the protection of the retina.
Studies suggest that the body may concentrate elderberry in photoreceptor cells, which is where most of the oxidative retinal damage occurs.
Ginko Baloba-Among its other many uses, ginko has been shown to increase circulation to the optic nerve, which can help increase the potency of other occular remedies.
